Studio bio
Short
Straylight Orbital is a small studio building software where your effort drives the fun. Cycling, photography, and the things we'd rather do ourselves than have a machine do for us.
Long
Straylight Orbital is a small studio building software where your effort drives the fun. Our first product, Freewheel, is a focused trainer remote — built so you can put on a spin class, ride a YouTube video, or do your own intervals without the trainer's app fighting you. Our second, Proof, is an iPad-native contact sheet for photographers who treat looking as part of the craft. Our third, Straylight, is an arcade racer powered by pedaling. We're starting with cycling and photography because that's where we live, but the studio is really about a simpler idea: the effort you're already putting in is allowed to be fun, and the software's job is to honor the work, not replace the judgment.
Founder bio
Mark Strayer is an indie app developer and product strategist. He founded Network32, the Sam's Club Innovation R&D team. Today he runs Straylight Orbital alongside Strayer Studio, a small consulting practice. He lives on a road bike and at a contact sheet, which is the shortest possible explanation of the products.
